Information and Communication Technologies have today changed every aspect of human life. To this effect therefore, this study examines the emergence and nature of Information and Communication Technologies in the Zamfara State Ministry of Finance, and how employees at the Ministry define the ICTs. It also discusses the skills the employees need to perform optimally in the financial operations of the Ministry. The study also examines how the ICTs influence salary and other financial administration, and the challenges that the Ministry faces as a result of the introduction of ICTs and such ways the Ministry responded to the challenges. The study used qualitative research methodology thereby combining two different techniques including in-depth interviews and focus group discussions. In addition, the study used published materials, note taking and audio taping of interviews. The paper concludes that introduction of Information and Communication Technologies brings about huge changes in financial transactions and management in the state ministry of finance, Also recommendations on further in house training on the current trends of ICTs are provided.
